Re: Boxer dogs
Buster...

When I 1st moved in with my now Mrs I had breathing issues as we had carpet down stairs and the dander gets bedded in.

At 1st I'd cough until my head was about to explode, I took Percojesic, seemed to do the trick.

We moved house and we have no carpet and have had no issues.

Re: Boxer dogs
Dander isn't hair, it's skin, so the amount of hair the dog sheds isn't really relevant.

Dog hair isn't an allergen, but dander is, so your wife is still likely to suffer from her allergies irrespective of which breed you get.

Boxers are generally thick as two short planks as well. Great nature, but fucking stupid dogs.

Re: Boxer dogs
I love boxer dogs but they are fucking retarded and a total pain in the arse, you'd have to be mental to get one. My mates one used to eat anything then regurgitate it, youd walk in the front room and there would be a cow pat that he'd vommed up. Died after eating an asthma inhaler, stupid cunt

Buster.
My German Shorthaired Pointer shares your username.
He is big for he's breed, brilliant family dog but deep down he's a German hunting machine that can't be worn out ever.hes been hard work to say the least but a mans best friend is true.
My advice is do loads of homework and try and agree on a realistic breed to suit your circumstances.
All the best mate.

Re: Boxer dogs
get a eurasier - outstanding dog on any level, just be around it and include it in the family process

loyal to the extreme, looks the part, highly intelligent and a right good mate, I have a small female and a large male

utterly adorable beasts

Re: Boxer dogs
Labradoodle puppies, the kids would love one of those. Put they're a bit PANSY looking when they grow up.

Buster

A standard poodle, when trimmed, is quite an impressive beast. Same height as a geyhound, maybe a bit bigger; strong, calm and good with the family. Very good guard dogs and they do not moult at all.

Problem is, you have probably never seen one in england.

Re: Boxer dogs
Labradoodles dont moult. But they fucking stink. Lovely dogs though.

Re: Boxer dogs
I'm NOT getting a fucking poodle.

Re: Boxer dogs
Boxers are brilliant dogs. Brave, strong (not so intelligent), incredibly athletic and very protective. Good with kids but can be boisterous (bouncy).

Best dogs to get if you want to avoid moulting or allergy is a standard poodle.

The standard poodle is nothing like the toy poodles you see on a model's arm. They were bred originally as a French fighting dog. Incredibly strong, calm, brave and very few health problems.

The only downside is they have quite small jaws/teeth, which limited their fighting capabilities. But they were French?

Re: Boxer dogs
Had two, absolutely lovely but stupid. Definitely need to wipe down everywhere they go, the amount of slobber is incredible. Breed can get pidgeon chested so don't live as long as retrievers for example. And they still molt a lot, but my bro was allergic and dealt with it.

Hahaha, you will get BUMMED if you take your Poodle to the pub

Buster 10:58 Thu Jul 21
Re: Boxer dogs
I'd rather get bummed than take a poodle down the pub.

Re: Boxer dogs
Poodles are lovely dogs and not gay at all, plus they don't shed

Vexed 10:56 Thu Jul 21
Re: Boxer dogs
Aren't they quite prone to tumours and don't generally live that long? Or are these the ones from shit breeders?

Won't an antihistamine just sort it out?

Re: Boxer dogs
Having short hair won't prevent allergies.

Best bet is to get a dog with curly matted hair or anything crossed with a Poodle - Is there a Boxpoo out there ??!

Feel for your wife, breed doesn't make any difference. My brother had one. Suffragette City.

Wood floors throughout so that's not a problem.
